Kalahari: How an African Safari inspired the World’s Coolest Waterpark

How Kalahari Resorts made The
Great migration back to their roots.

Kalahari Resorts

Todd Nelson went to Africa 20 years ago and was never the same. His life's work has become bringing the adventure of surf, safari and travel to every family. So when Kalahari decided to open in the Poconos, it was time to go big.

We created a series of films featuring universal themes like family, culture, nature and
adventure — bringing our idea of One World to life.

Mini Doc / Episode 1: One Love

Mini Doc / Episode 2: One Wild Bunch

Mini Doc / Episode 3: One Safari

Mini Doc / Episode 4: One Rhythm

Mini Doc / Episode 5: One Treasure

Mini Doc / Episode 6: One Wave

And we went to 6 countries in Africa in 26 days and created a deep, rich pool of original content to bring the beauty, power and majesty of Africa to life in a way that only Kalahari can.

We then captured that same African magic in a series of films we created at the Kalahari Resort, showcasing those timeless yet fleeting family moments.

Television / :60 / "Splash"

We then developed an electronic press kit to distribute and amplify our story far and wide.

And the story unfolded across partnerships and platforms,
like planning your own African adventure with Mashable.

At the end of the day:

We opened to a full resort in the Poconos. Reservations at existing locations are up to the triple digits, and we've had over
1 million social engagements and 800 million PR impressions.
